After viewing a feature on Arthur Mitchell, I am compelled to visit this work again and speak about it's importance from a historical point of view. Showing a person of color in a ballet setting is revolutionary. When the larger society didn't want or think that persons of color could, should or needed to preform Ballet, to others thinking why preform dances outside of one's culture. This painting frees one to see beyond the limitations of others and express oneself through the art of dance. Thank you for creating this image that may inspire future dancers to see themselves.

I dig this work and subject. The colors work well together creating a sense of energy and excitement. Peace, O.
